A cold-air diffuser is the technology behind the scent you notice in good hotels. It atomises fragrance oil with cold air, without water and without heat, so the fragrance stays true to its composition and fills the room evenly.

What is a cold-air diffuser?

Inside a cold-air diffuser sits a small air pump. It pushes air past the fragrance oil at high speed, breaking the oil into very fine, dry particles. Because those particles are so small, they stay in the air for a long time and spread evenly through the room. No water is involved and the oil is never heated. The scent stays the way the perfumer intended, from the fresh top notes to the warm base notes.

Why hotels use cold air

Hotels want their lobby to smell the same all day, without anyone lighting candles or refilling water tanks. A cold-air diffuser does exactly that: it runs on an adjustable rhythm, carries the scent across a large space and needs almost no maintenance. With the Pure One aroma diffuser by Pip & Wells you bring the same technology home, suited to rooms up to approximately 100 m².

How to use a cold-air diffuser

  • Screw a 120 ml bottle of fragrance oil directly into the diffuser. Do not decant the oil, so scents stay pure.
  • Place the diffuser in the open, in the hallway, living room or open-plan kitchen.
  • Start on a low intensity and increase step by step until the scent is present without overpowering the room.
  • A bottle lasts approximately 2 to 4 months, depending on intensity and daily hours of use.
